The price for the potential benefit usually is a pleasant shock. Your home works just like an ordinary home. It works in the back ground. It is natural. You suddenly realize the lanai lights are on, "Cool"  But we are done and want to go in for the night so you just turn the switch off, just as you would normally. THE CODE turned on 3 strategically placed cameras, it also turned on 10 strategically placed infrared detectors which when tripped, would take a video of the potential criminals  in living color from 3 angles. At this time the system calls a monitoring station ($ 10.00 month service) which can determine if fire or police are needed.
