Roger Pammer

Aloha!

Thank you for taking the time to explore our site and our company.

Just a few short words about myself and my life here on the Big Island.

I arrived for change of pace with a childhood friend (he still is, living just few miles away,  with our families) in 1972. The "PLAN" was to land in Hilo and "beach comb" our way to Kona. Well, we had no contingency for an island with no beaches. But, Kona, with no traffic lights, very few people except those who had made this home, unlimited potential,  views and sunsets I could never have imagined. It was an easy decision to call this our new home. That was over 32 years ago.

My Dad was a contractor. But I wanted to try farming. With my family's help I purchased an old coffee farm in Honaunau. (I still own it and love to "talk story" about my experiences). It was hard to earn a living back then, with coffee, farming or anything.  I had a family on the way now. I was alone and on my own. Dad and Mom were gone.....

Construction jobs were hard to find. But I was good at it and construction, traditionally,  has been a  decent living to raise a family. I worked for some of the first contractors in Kona and I was a superintendent for the largest for 8 years. We build most of what is modern Kona, Keauhou, Lanihou shopping village, etc.

I eventually applied for my Contractors license after 18 years. I have seen many fine friends and contractors come and go. This has always been the hardest on those who have committed to live here. Making friends only to wish Aloha's. But after 32 years, nothing has changed. Yes more roads, people and traffic lights. However, I look "through" these things. You see, I consider the day I landed 33 years ago, was the day I "retired". I work at my passion, to create for my many fine clients, a piece of what I felt so long ago. I feel blessed for living in these times and in this paradise I fumbled across 33 years ago.

Thank you for allowing me to indulge myself. I never seem to tire putting together the string of events leading me and you to this very page. I love to listen to the stories of others, and how they came to the Big Island. I have found we all share some common thread. You shall see.

Mahalo,

Roger Pammer
